Birthdays Are....

Birthdays are the only time of year when one get's to sing one's praises....and I'm not trying to be proud when I say that I love birthdays. For as long as I have been alive, my birthdays have been different from the rest of the family. November 12 is right smack dab in the middle of busy season, so around my birthday it was always busy. And now with me working, it still is. I decided to open my present(s) tonight so that my siblings could watch me, since I get up so early anyways.
Today has been amazing! If I'm going to be honest, I don't feel any older, just loved and blessed.
A couple of my friends stopped by work today to wish me a happy birthday and give me presents...which I thoroughly enjoyed. Many people also called and emailed me too! I'm looking forward to celebrating this evening with my family, and resting and relaxing too.
Since it is my birthday, I shall present you with one thing that might surprise you. (about me) Here goes.
When I was a little child, I loved to play with tupperware. (I still love to play with tupperware!)
Me when we took our family pictures...

Picture of some little girls!
And lastly, a quote from google. Pretty wise too!
I must say, today has been amazing. I've lived fifteen awesome years on this earth and I am so ready to live another! And just think, next year I can drive. (I've already started practicing)
Enjoy the snow, and have a wonderful day!
Many Happy Returns of the Day!

Thanksgiving Camping - Weirder Pictures

So, V wants me to post more of the weird pictures, so here it goes!
Eating chips on the beach.

Joel really wanted to play "Rusk" (aka "Risk") with Dad.

The photoshoot with V! I accidentally focused the camera on the weeds not V!

Trying to talk while I take a picture, isn't a wise idea!

This was just sitting there, and I thought I'd take a pic of it

Mom doing something while Moriah is reaching for more chips

I have no idea what Joel was trying to do!

Standing by the water (notice that I'm the one taking the pictures)

Classic Victoria #1

and #2

Eating macaroni

Cassia climbing a tree.
You can barely notice her "black" (it was more blue/purple than black) eye.

Classic Victoria #3

Standing at a boardwalk on a trail overlooking the beach.

Ellia

Sitting around the fire 24/7 unless we're on a trail or in the van!

I close with this great picture of Mom! Totally describes how all of us were looking at V most of the time.

All in all, we had a good time!
Now, it rainy and dreary, and a good movie day!

Thanksgiving Camping 101 (aka 2019)

Our camping trip was cold but good. We got there late Friday night (probably around 8:30/9pm). On Saturday, we did lots of trails, which is where most of these pictures, below, are from. Mom was sore, and I guess all the walks and canoeing (yes, we went canoeing; it was fun!).
Sunday, we were almost late to church. It took about 50 minutes just to get to church; later we found out that you can get there in about 25/30 minutes. So we really took the long way! Mr. Tuinstra invited us to their place for lunch, and we went there; after getting invitations for lunch from the Vogels and DeBoers. Mr. and Mrs. Tuinstra knew we were coming because they had supper at Pake & Beppe's on Saturday night, and Mrs. Tuinstra made a delicious crockpot of soup and buns. We had a good time with Mr. and Mrs. Tuinstra, thankfully there were no extra guests, except their daughter, Elizabeth, who came about 10 minutes before church.
This time we were there is good timing! Afterward, Carrie Vogel was there, and Mom talked with her for a while. Ellia was literally dying!!! She had a fever and was lying on the ground! But later on, you would have thought she had been perfectly healthy!
Monday, we packed up. Left. Got home. Emptied the trailer. And left for the Music Night. The Music Night was great fun!

I took a lot of photos (actually most of them are from me.

The pictures of people, I was literally doing a photo shoot of V. She wanted me too.

We had a good time!

Family Pictures 2019

At least once a year, every family does something important: family pictures. This is often a trying ordeal and only now have I actually (being nearly 15) learned to appreciate it. (Maybe.) A few weeks ago, when our whole extended family on Mom's side was down, we did that very thing. And since I'm sure you're interested in what we look like, I decided to post a few. First, the individual kid pictures

Me, 14

Alicia, 13

Moriah, 12

Cassia, 10

Ellia, 8

Joel, 6
Big Family Photo
We kids were all mostly in play clothes, but it looked fine anyways. I think that for nearly 30 people, the picture is pretty good.
Now, our family photo.😊 I am posting four pictures, to emphasize the struggle. (We took 15 pictures.)

Take One: Funny Faces

Take-Two: Nobody's Looking

Take Three: Mom's not looking

Finally, a good one. And my favorite.😀

We are going camping on Saturday, so I will bring my camera, take pictures, and then post them after. Or will try to! ;) Enjoy your September!

Summer Life (and a little before that!)

Before I start with the pictures (and maybe a video or two), here's a rundown of what's been happenin' lately.

I think we'll start with the Nymanns coming over.
I was able to snap a few photos of while Mom & Erin went to Carrie's house on Saturday morning/afternoon. (There is another post in May about this, but this is an overview ... currently.)

CAMPING WITH MATT & JESS (last weekend in May)

On the road

Our campsite

Ellia & Joel

Matt & Jess's campsite

Going for a walk to beach (took 2 times to get to the right path)

Beautiful scenery the whole 30 min. there.

Lots of stairs!

A lookout. You can see the lake (barely)

We brought granola bars & Welch's fruit snacks for snacks

The beach! Lots of sand, great for young'ns to play in

Tamar & Jess heading the long way back to the washrooms

The trail to the park (well, not exactly to the park, but on the way to the park).
On the right is Matt & Jess's campsite (not that you can see anything).

Dad & Matt went the long walk back to get the van, and we piled (I think about) 14 people in our 12 person van. Oh, well. I've done 14 people in Beppe's van (the back open, 3 people; back bench, 6 people; the front bench (on 2 seats actually), 3 people; front, 2 people (the back bench was all the little kids. Some older lady, Aunt Brandy & Uncle Jeff in the open back. Some older man (the lady's husband), Ryan (Drouillard) and I in the front bench. Beppe & Mrs. Drouillard in the front.))

HOMESCHOOL CAMPING (second full week of June)

Homeschool camping ... there were about 15 families who camped.
We stayed Friday night-Saturday (and that was long enough, in my opinion, almost too long!)
Of all the people from our church these are the people who I know came on certain days.
Palmers/Maynard - Saturday | Nymanns/VKS/VKS - Sunday | Bartschs - Monday night | Drouillards/Luimes/Mrs. Moerman - Tuesday
The weekend was okay. None of my friends were there, so I didn't have anyone to play with, so I was bored, but I guess V had a great time!
On Monday, it was a rainy day. We had Monica with us all day!
On Tuesday, everything was still wet. But more people arrived, so all of us (except V & Joel, who played with Si-Guy) had Luimes, Drouillards, Bartsches, and Moriah Cowan (who came out on Wednesday for games day).
Wednesday was games day. I was (unfortunately) a team captain. These are the people I had on my team: Ryan Drouillard, Moriah Cowan, Calvin VK, Aaron VK, Jane Palmer, Eva Smulders, and myself. I had a girl named Eva who was one V's team (she was a captain too), but V was already gone, so I took her with me, and if we met up with V (which we didn't) she'd go with V. But it was fine having her with me, I stayed back with her, 'cause she was slower on her bike than the older ones. I would tell Ryan & Moriah where we were going, and then they'd lead them to wherever we had to go, since I bike with Eva, which was nice, we got to know each other, we're both the second oldest (!). I also had to remind people that we didn't have Annika (the girl who didn't show up) but had Eva instead. At our second last stop, with Mrs. Drouillard & Mrs. Cowan, I was bleeding on my foot, so I had to go to my campsite and get a bandaid, I had Eva's waterbottle (she was smart to bring one!), so I told them to meet me there, but only one person showed up, so we grabbed a drink, I got a bandaid, and then when we were on our way there, I forgot Eva's waterbottle, so I went back, got the waterbottle, and then met up with everyone at the swings.
Wednesday afternoon, Mrs. Nymann fainted, and was brought to the hospital. So we had the Nymanns with us for supper.
On Thursday, Drouillards and Nymanns and Mom (since Erin fainted, and wasn't feeling good, Mom drove them to Toronto on Thursday, stayed at the hotel with them, to pick up John and Favour at the airport. They waited 3 HOURS at the airport to pick them up!) left.
Friday night Mom came back. Saturday morning we pack up. Left. Got home. I must saying, coming home after a long 9 days, home felt really good!

EDEN VILLA & HANNAH'S SUNDAY SCHOOL GRADUATION (FUNNY STORY)

Hannah's church's evening service starts at 3:30 (or 3:00). Eden Villa, on the other hand, ends around 3:30. I was at Eden Villa. I missed the whole service except for (I'd say) about the last 5 minutes of the sermon! I felt really bad about that. But her graduation thing wasn't till the end of the service! So that's good.

HOMESCHOOL GRADUATION (SHORT STORY)
That was fun. Nadia came at about 4:15 to get her hair done.
I played the piano for it. I had a hard time deciding what to do for the pro/re-cessional, but Maria Luimes helped me out with that (thanks Maria!).
Hemmo, Blake & Nadia were the grade 12 graduates! (Ken, Hemmo & Blake are heading off to Gillespie Academy this fall 😔)
Ryan Drouillard and Justin & Abbi Maynard were the grade 8 graduates! I could've graduated, but I didn't want to. I said that I'd rather play piano for it than graduate. So that's exactly what I did.  But, know I kinda wish I did graduate, just 'cause my friends did. Abbi and I are both a grade ahead.

So I guess that really all. But this is what happened today while my siblings were supposed to do school. Instead, they played with ...
PLAYDOUGH!

Cassia's person!

So, before I end. I want to bring your attention to something that my older sister, Victoria did.
She wanted Moriah to put a stamp on her face.
And this is the finished look!

She was going to wear it to Beppe's, but Mom said "No way!".
She was also going to wear to church (and let everyone think she's crazy!)!!! But Mom said, "No way!"

So, we're doing school through the summer.
But we're enjoying the nice weather.
I've only been swimming once this summer.
But, anyways, enough is enough. I'd better end!

Enjoy the great weather!
I updated the picture on the front today, it is the most recent family picture, my favorite one!
