Camping....

The Sunday before Victoria day we were walking to church in the morning and I was exclaiming over what a beautiful day it was and how I would love to go camping. Bryan said that I could if I wanted. I hadn't really meant it at the time, but as we walked and talked my desire to go grew and grew. All day I kept saying 'maybe' we would go camping on Monday but then Monday morning came and we started packing up! The girls were excited and so was I! I was thankful that the grocery store was open as I didn't have all the food we needed and I would not have a vehicle while camping since Bryan still had to work.
We managed to get out to the Rondeau (it is only 25min. from home) around 4pm. We set up had some supper and went to bed. The getting to sleep part was not so easy as the Cassia was not use to having a bunch of people in the room with her, Bryan and I girls fell asleep by 10pm. but for me it was a little later.
Bryan left for work at 6:45am the girls and I got dressed had breakfast and went for a walk. We had such a wonderful time going for walks and talking. My reason for going camping was so that I would have more time to just focus on the girls. We walked slowly and talked about all kinds of things. A week or so before I had been talking to Bryan about how I wished I did more Bible teaching to the girls but I didn't always have time to sit and read and teach them. Bryan encouraged me that teaching isn't always sitting down but the little things we do and say during the day. So this was a wonderful time of just talking about God, His creation, and the blessings of it all. Here is Bryan, Victoria, and Moriah our last night and the only night we had a fire. Bryan come after work which usually ended up being around 7 -8pm.
Here are the girls enjoying the sunshine. You can see our trailer in the background. I think this is probably the first day when it was cooler and we actually wanted to sit in the sun. We would keep moving so that we would be warm.

My dear little Cassia Boo. She was such a sweet little baby to have on a camping trip! After the first night she slept very well and actually enjoyed her playpen. She played nicely in the play pen outside and loved having her bath. She also got excited every time I put her in the stroller to go to the bathroom once again!!

All my munchkins on the slide. They loved wearing the bonnets and we played little house, and read little house. The girls wanted me to call them Mary, Laura, Carrie, and Grace and they called me Ma and our trailer a cabin.

This is the first morning when we had the best walk of all. Cassia took her first step on the last day of camping. She can now take about 3 steps and is very proud of herself. I am so happy that she is walking early, atleast according to our family!

This was our favorite part of camping. This first morning we saw tons and tons of fish, big and little. they were jumping and swimming together. It was so neat to see.

This was not so nice to see. Dead fish everywhere! We had been looking forward to playing on the beach, but that did not happen due to an over load of dead 'smelt'(I think that is what they are called) It is a normal thing for them to die and by the time we left there was a lot less. We hope that when we go again next week they will be all gone so that we really can enjoy some beach time!
So though it was busy and we had to make a thousand and one trips to the bathroom. We had a wonderful time. I loved being with the girls and enjoying God's creation! It is possible to camp with 4 little ones pretty much all by myself.
We go homeschool camping next Friday with my sister. We are looking forward to that too!! We are also trying to sell our trailer so that we can buy a bigger one with a bathroom!! :-)
